Hands on hatching and help

The ACs look great! All three I'll be growing out for sure and then if they still look good, they'll stay. I'm looking to replace my two current roosters so even the boys have a good shot of remaining here. The keets are usually quick like chickens - I noticed two pips last night and I expect both of those to be out today.

I wouldn't ever be able to leave through a hatch lol. My anxiety is always through the roof!!

On shipping a lot of the handling is done by machine sorters, so it really is a crap shoot on how well the eggs do... but I do know one person who labels theirs 'Live Wasps' and the %'s of hatches from them are stellar...

Also seen deformed hatches from healthy, diverse genetic stock when eggs were shipped too... it's always best to err on the side of caution and not breed those, but never assume anything when eggs are shipped...

Oh, and I have some eggs going into lockdown as well... 14 white Silkie eggs shipped from a friend and it was 100% development and 100% going into lockdown...

Good luck on the silkies!! I'd love to see pics when they hatch!!

That'll be interesting.  Always the favorites!! Sucks so bad. I still come close to tears when I see pics of my fav. Just makes me mad at myself all over again!

First OEGB is out! Sometime between 8a.m. and noon. (guessing closer to noon because it wasn't up and running around much yet) It was the first one that pipped, which is rare for my hatches! lol
2 more are pipped, and another chocolate pip also.

Congrats! Yes, do post fluffy pictures! I've now got two keets out, one pinto and one some kind of blue, maybe lavender? Not sure, gotta wait till it fluffs. I was about to move the turkeys out into a crate brooder in the coop (they are much too big for the indoor brooder now) but of course a surprise thunderstorm started to roll in the second I went out to do it They are moving out of the house, darn it!

They sent my guinea eggs to the wrong post office I'm glad I noticed because if I hadn't they'd have sent them back to the sort facility, sorted them again, sent them out to my post office, and then delivered them tomorrow. The wrong post office is about 20 minutes away so now I have to go drive out there to get them. And they close at four so I'll have to leave soon and if this thunderstorm doesn't blow over by then I'll have to drive in it to get them. Why post office, why?

Oh I would be so peeved. You need my postman lol. Is there rain with that thunder storm? It's been 112 degrees here all week. Thankfully it will be down to 100 this weekend. Looking forward to summer being over..
