Can someone post a picture of how they hang their cabbages please ?
Sorry can't post a pic but basically you use a small rope hung where the cabbage is either even with the shoulders of the chicken or alittle higher if you want them to work for it.
those cheap fishing stringer works great for me.
I'll see if I can get a picture later...but I just use a clothes hanger...put the hook part through the cabbage stem part, straighten out the hanger. It looks ugly, but serves its purpose.
I use like one of the small tent pegs shove the pointy part into the cabbage they I have it tied with a length of Nylon cord to an eylet screwed into the rafter (Note My roof is only center height 8 foot !!
Thanks so much. For some reason I just couldn't picture this - duh ! I'm sure the girls will freak out the first time I hang one !
I was wondering how to do this also. Thanks for asking. Know I learned too
Well, got their cabbage hung and they are scared to death of it !!
Quote:Mine were too, when I first hung it, but they will get over it soon. Next thing you know, they will be attacking it as soon as it is hung! I use a tent stake and hay string to hang mine inside the coop. I need to hang another one tonight when I get home from work.
Leave it a while. Pull a couple of leaves of the cabbage out and down, and tear up a leaf, scatter it under the hanging cabbage. They'll get the idea.
Here's one I hung some time ago:
