Hard boiling fresh eggs-This one WORKS!

You are welcome. Now, how long did you leave it in the oven and what temp did you use? Did you think the egg tasted different being baked? Who ever thought to bake them was a smart cookie.
Oh--I'm so sorry hennotrooster! I tried the other method, putting the eggs into the already boiling water. BUT, I will try the oven method next time. I will try them at 325F for probably about 5 mins and test one. They won't explode, will they? LOL I'm going to have to dig out my muffin pan! I should be ready for another batch soon and I'll let you know how they turn out.

Hi TC I went back and checked it is 325 preheated for 20-25 minutes and no my one egg did not explode. I did however when I got my very first microwave put a peeled egg in to reheat and man did it explode. I have had a lot of cooking disasters in my time. The most recent was my attempt at making sourdough bread after the third loaf I am done. Love the bread but can get a really good one at the 99c Only stores and they are not multi-purpose mine could be carefully eaten, used as a weapon, a brick or a door stop.

Not sure where it is that I went wrong but when I mess something up it is messed up.

.....yeah, I have to give this a try as well! I dont think I've ever even heard it mentioned

Well, I tried baking the eggs. I used eggs that were about two weeks old, and they peel great! Tasted great, too! Sometimes boiled eggs can be 'tough', but these weren't. The 20-25 min cooking time was a bit too long for me, as I like my eggs with a runnier yolk, so next time I will probably try 15-20 mins. I think I will be doing this method from now on! No pots to clean! LOL Thanks hennotrooster!

I know that is the same thing I thought nothing to clean up afterward.

And the shell falling off as easy as it did was a great plus nothing went into the trash. Glad to be a help. I used an egg from that morning and it worked.

I will have to try the baking method. I usually boil them in vinegar water for 10 min then run cool water over them then crack and roll on counter put back in pan and let sit in ice water until ice melts then peel. It works very well but I want to try a baked egg out of curiosity.
