Over the past week or so we have been finding hard yolks. I don't know if it is just one of my hens or multiple hens. The egg white is just fine, but when I crack the egg the yolk is obviously hardened in spots. I have been throwing out chips, crackers , berries anything that they will eat. Could it be some of the oils in the chips? Any ideas? Please help!
They have not been frozen - it is July in Alabama.

Welcome to BYC! I think you're right, it may be the oil in or on the treats you are feeding them. Ingestion of crude cottonseed oil and seeds of velvet weed (and other related plant species) can cause thick, pasty, rubbery or cheese-like yolks. As can severe chilling/freezing of intact eggs.
