We are chicken newbies and in the process of re-furbishing an old coop / run. HWC all around and on top. I'm wondering about burying HWC for an apron all around, how deep should this be?

Pavers on top of apron is redundant and may actually defeat the whole purpose.I plan to lay mine flat and put 12 " pavers on top of them so I don't have to weedeat around the edge

Critters will try to dig under paver and may end up under apron.
