Hi Kim! :frow :hugs

Lollie is back to his hyper old self, running around, playing with toys, barking. :D I feel SO much better now that he is on the road to healing! Its thundering and lightening outside so right now he is cowering. :rolleyes:

Oh I don't blame you not wearing the socks yet, they looked so nice, too good to wear!! Fun little bag they came in too. :p Definitely get pics of those chicken legs tomorrow!! :lol: :hugs

@TwoCrows

That’s wonderful news Leyla :clap Not about the thunder & lightening though & Lollie being scared! With that you must be getting rain? Much needed I would guess too! It’s just started raining here, not too heavy but it wasn’t forecast!
Now I won’t sleep because I will be laid there worrying about H getting wet as he’s only got a fly sheet on! :hmm If it had been forecast I would have put him a rain sheet on, Can’t win over here! Plus it’s a bit chillier, got down to 7/8c the other night. I’m never happy unless I’m complaining about the weather! :lol:

@Yorkshire Coop

Oh, I am a weather whiner too! Its either too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet. :lau I am never comfortable anymore! :lol:

Oh no, Harry's going to be soggy in the morning! Hopefully it doesnt get too cold overnight that he catches a chill. I'm sure he will be fine as you flip and flop all night long in worry! :hugs

Yes, we've been getting lots of much needed rain these past few weeks! You can almost hear the trees and grass sighing in relief. I love it! Hopefully it continues on into fall!

@TwoCrows

Just the same here, I can’t help myself! Nights are drawing in now so if it wasn’t so dark I would go back and change his rug but I’m not creeping about in the dark at the farm! Seems even darker earlier now especially when it’s overcast with cloud. I can feel summer slipping away :(

I too bet he’ll be ok but I’m just a big girl with him and mollycoddle him :oops:

@Yorkshire Coop

Kim, I totally understand your worry! You love him dearly and spoil him rotten! :D So you worry. I am the same way with all my critters. Judd is always telling me not to stress because they will be fine, but I can't help myself and I worry anyway!!! :barnie

And yes, it is getting darker earlier now and sneaking out in the dark, in the rain, doesnt sound too inviting! :p. Well, I guess all you can do is snuggle up to the dogs and wait til morning. I am sure Harry will be just fine. :):hugs

But just in case, I will worry with you! :barnie :hugs

@TwoCrows

Your so right Leyla! Creeping around in the wet & dark is not inviting at all, especially as I have PJ’s on right now :lol:
Scott’s the same and keeps preaching at me that “horses can cope with -20c” goodness knows where he’s heard that! And that I’ve made H the way he is :lol: I’ve told him when he can stroke a horse and not be petrified he can comment on how to keep them :smack

In the morning I will be thinking that I didn’t need to worry!

@Yorkshire Coop

Kim, you are right, your PJs might not stay too dry out there right now. :lol: Hopefully Harry isn't mumbling to himself right now, "How could my Mum leave me like this!! I am cold and she just doesnt love me anymore!! :hit"

:D

He will be ok, I am sure! But yes, its annoying when those that give us advice are too scared to even touch them. :lau

Definitely let us know how Harry held up overnight! :)

As expected Harry & Bran were fine this morning! :lol: It actually got quite humid over night as still is now. All worry for nothing but I still had a disturbed nights sleep. Kitty cat wasn’t ready to come in when I went to bed and I don’t like her to be out on a night especially when it’s raining! Charlie went to a party last night and wasn’t back when I went to bed so I couldn’t nod off properly until I heard come in. He’s paying the price this morning though & is feeling a bit under the weather :sick Especially with Keeper leaping all over him!

Kids, horse’s & cat’s = worry! :lol:

@Yorkshire Coop

Great to hear Harry was just fine this morning! :) I was helping you worry overnight and didn't sleep well myself. :p

Always something to worry about, especially when the cat didn't come home or teenagers are out late! :barnie I hope Charlie feels better soon. :hugs

But I'm glad all worked out for you! :hugs

Hi Kim

Yes we are back safe and sound and had a lovely trip thank you. Zak was up to his antics and got away from me again trying to load him although this time we were in the farm yard with the gates shut, so he couldn't go far. Ian resorted to wrapping the lead rope around his nose and after he tried twice more to do a runner he realised that he would have to comply. We had the same problem going home, but whilst we were there he was good as gold. We had two lovely drives out with him. Thurs afternoon we took him out with Helen and Harvey to check their cattle in their more remote fields. It was lovely to jog along country tracks and be able to have a canter on the grass here and there. Yesterday we took an elderly neighbour and close family friend of theirs out with us. He used to hunt and drive in his younger days and was the longest serving British Driving Society judge until he recently retired. He really enjoyed going round the countryside where he used to hunt and was telling us about jumping these huge hedges. Zak was an absolute star. Coped with massive lorries on the road and all the rough terrain and the cattle and we even went over a couple of railway crossings (something he has never seen before) without batting an eyelid. We were surprised to see that the level crossings are surfaced in rubber matting! We also put Harvey (who is just turned 5) on his back for a little lead around the farm yard and Harvey had really good posture and natural leg position!
It was lovely to spend time with Harvey. Helen and Baz have nick named me Super Woman because Harvey dotes on me..... the feeling is mutual though. I think the world of him. Of course he can be a bit demanding and naughty sometimes (he is after all a little boy!)but he just loves getting a bit of attention and on a working farm with no brothers or sisters and a busy Mam and Dad, he relished someone to play with and do exciting things and just talk silly with and it gives Helen and Baz a bit of a break if I am keeping him happy. The down side was that I didn't get 5 mins to myself.... not even going to the loo or having a shower!!
Pleased to find beasties were all fit and well when I got home. I did wake up at 2 am in a total panic, with heart racing, convinced that I had not locked the chickens up though..... I had of course, but one day away from routine was enough to unsettle me.

Pleased Harry was OK. I only worry about mine getting wet in the middle of winter when it is cold or early spring when they are losing their winter coats. I do worry about them getting eaten alive by flies though and having no shelter to come in, so I welcome a bit of rain and wind to keep them at bay. Today is just perfect for that. Nice and breezy!

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend and manage to get out on Harry for a bit of flag flying. I have a lot of chores to catch up on.

Very best wishes

Barbara
