Hatch along!!!! setting january 11-15!!!

tomorrow is hatch day for me..... Hoping to get at least 3-4! Had a little egg catastrophe.... Our setup is above and my chicken is in that little nesting box we made for her and literally has not got up once the whole time. There was a big pile of poo right under her butt and the food was right in front of here so there was no need to get up. But, on day 16, she got off the eggs and went out into the bigger area. There was half an egg on the ground that had blackish fluid in it. The chicken was going ballistic because there was an egg stuck to her legs. I went out there and after a while the egg finally fell off her legs. I put her back on the eggs. Then I was looking for the one that had stuck to her legs, but it had disappeared into the shavings. I looked for an hour but never found it now she is sitting on six well see how many hatch tomorrow

Ohhh Good luck AnimalLover! As far as I can tell, I have 3, maybe 4 chicks with at least one more pipping. Really hoping to get a better look in the morning. Fingers crossed for a good hatch for you tomorrow!

My update, I now have one chick out, one half way zipped and two pipped.

Sorry I couldn't get a better pic of the chick, I think the little tyke is naping and I didn't want to disturb him/her.

I now have three and one working on zipping. Unfortunantly it looks like one has a hanging yoke sac.

I am keeping a close eye on that one...

I think I'm done. I think they're all dead. Looks like they quit at about a week or so. I'll go through with lockdown just in case, but it does NOT look good. This sucks. I'm gonna do another hatch... setting likely on Thursday.

It happens. So far i have 4 out of -originally- 22. I still have a few days so i am crossing my fingers but i am worried that this is it. And I should be with you on this next one too. I am picking up some RIR and Buff brahma eggs Wednesdayish.

I'm glad to have a hatch buddy at least! Yay!

The really sucky thing is, we can't have anymore babies from our original 4, because we got rid of the rooster right before we set. I'll have to hatch using my friend's eggs (Half brothers and sisters to my guys)

I have pips, but nothing else! All day, and no progress, and nothing at all from the shipped eggs! Arg. Although, I did set them in the evening, so I suppose they'll hatch overnight.
