First egg today from our Cayuga! Odd looking thing, didjt realize the actual shell would be nearly white with a dark film over it....thought the actual shell would be dark. Nonetheless, a beauty!

So weird, right?! You can see the white scrapes likely from the serration on one of the girls' beaks while exploring it, in the first shot. It's like a really crappy Easter egg dye job, pun intended

I GOT AN EGG!!!!!! Lottie my Welsh Harlequin finally started to lay yesterday, and gave me anouther egg this morning. I'm so excited!!!

I have a small flock of Harlequins that are nearly 30wks. now with no signs of laying! So, of course, I searched here on BYC for an answer & found this thread. Since its early January and bitter cold outside, I'm gonna wait a bit longer before I worry anymore. However, I decided I had better post here since it seems almost everyone who has gets eggs shortly thereafter! So, hopefully I will post tomorrow that my girls started, too!
