Hatching Again! Oops! Brooding in winter

Will be watching and praying that you all have a good hatch.

I hear ya Kitty on the weather we got hit hard Thursday and Friday night got 18 inches of snow at least. We had a high of 14 today.

It's not going to stop me from hatching this Jan.

Miss P will ya put me on the big red list for eggs please. Thank you.

I will be hatching some feather feet mix breeds and some isa brown/EE's and then I found a guy who imported some BO chicks from England who will be selling me some hatching eggs in Jan so going to get lots of those, he was at the fair I seen pics of those chickens they were huge. Also looking to do BBS Orp's and some more Dorkings.

Happy hatching ya all.

First Candling:
6 days... 4 out of 6 silkies were empty. 2 MIGHT have something, questionable. My 2 BO eggs both look good. The RIR's all look okay. The darker egg is always hard for me to candle, but I won't candle again until day 18 when I put them out of the turner.

I have the second set to check on Wednesday...

Chica, my Columbian Rock is broody. Virginia is starting to get cold. I have her in my mini-cooper right now. I plan to add a heat lamp to the run a few days before hatch is expected and throw a tarp around much of it. I gave Chica 15 eggs. I am really excited, but I don't have high hopes of hatching outdoors in the winter.

All ideas and input are welcome!!!!

(That's Buffy photo-bombing.)
