That will work fine. I use wire flight pens. I have one old chicken run I keep a few bobs in, and I have a 5x12x6 flight pen. I am going to sell it, and make a bigger one with a gravel floor.

I keep the chicks in a wire growout pen at 6 weeks. Exept a few 6 mo. old quail got thru a 1 in. gap.

I hatch some in November and breed them until the fall. When fall comes I sell all of them and take a month or two off before I get some more bobs that will be ready to lay next spring. I keep coturnix year round because they will lay through the winter with lighting.

Our quail stopped laying in september. How can i get them to keep laying in the winter?
