No, they wobble like that to get into hatching position. It's a good sign. Quail wobble a lot.

On his own, none since around when he externally pipped yesterday at 4pm ish. I helped a bit but just to open the crack

Ok, thank you so much. My ADD can kick in a lot like this and I get very impatient and impulsive I’ll keep you posted on the other wabbler. I’ve only got 3 hatching, just wanted a few for some eggs, not looking for a whole bunch lol

How can I tell when he’s ready to start hatching on his own?

Also, I don’t know if I did it last night or this morning but the egg is accidentally turned upside down so it’s on the bottom side instead of top up, the way it’s been since lockdown. Should I move it back or keep it since it’s too late and he’s probably adjusted?

I think he still needs some more time. He should get more vocal when he's ready. How many hours has he been externally pipped now?
