Hatching Buddy wanted for Eggs in on August 5th & 6th

I know how you feel bragabit. I bought some from a seller from the other side of the US and I am getting discouraged because I can't see anything inside of them. The color of Marans eggs is a blessing and an incubation curse at the same time. Is anyone alive in there?

I just tossed all but 13 eggs.

I have: 1 Buff Orps
6 Welsummer
6 White Orps

I took the good ones all out of the incubator. Candled all the ones under the hens and had 14 total (1 control mutt egg). I divided them between the two broody hens and shut down the empty bator.

Good news, my little black mottled cochin went broody 2 nights ago and I set the first 5 eggs under and she is still sitting! Looking forward to hatched day on the 27th

She is such a good little girl, I have her in my spare bedroom and take her outside every morning and she does her thing and comes back into the house to sit.

Yes I have been carrying her back in after letting her poop. But she is a little spoiled. Why she started this I have no idea but when she wanted to lay she would come to us in the yard or up to the deck panting so we would let her in the house and she would go somewhere to sit for about a couple of hours and lay her egg, so we just kept letting her do this and she would never poop in the house and when she was through she would sing her little egg song and want us to let her back out then two days ago she sat in there for about 4 hours so I took the eggs out of bator and sat them under her in the evening and she has sat on them since and this is her first time brooding so I'll will probably have to watch for the eggs hatching to make sure she will take care of them. Here is a a couple of pic's of her and sitting on her nest under my office desk.

She is such a little sweetheart and so friendly. I didn't even raise her as a baby. I traded a peahen and got her along with various eggs. Oh and my hubby is just as crazy over her as I am.

Awww....too cute! Does she puff up and protest when you walk up to your desk? I suppose the inside of your home would be the safest place for her to hatch her chicks.
