Hatching - Day by Day - Chat thread!

I am on day 20. I am experimenting with the mini dome incubator from mcmurray. It's very UNsophisticated. I'm worried that I've opened it too many times to add water or candle. Worried the temp has dipped and spiked too many times and worried my humidity isn't high enough for hatch-- but we shall see. I only have two eggs in. Both looked great last time I candled which I believe was day 17. I hope they hatch but those are pretty high hopes for a first time hatcher in a $12 incubator lol I think I will spring for the brinsea for next time.

Gl julie. This is only my second hatch ever and I swear from start to finish on the first I opened it 50 times and 17/19 hatched 2 were unfertile. So far on second hatch I only opened a few times to candle and remove the first 13 to put in home made incubator for hatching.

Well I'm in the middle of day 21. No egg movement or pipping yet. But I won't give up quite yet!

i am on day 19-20 one egg slitely moving all other just there. temp 99-100 and humidity 64-70. i guess i just have to wait around. no sound , no piping , nada

I hated the waiting dolfi. I swear I was so happy my kids kept me busy and my husband too. I just kept walking over and looking at the eggs ...pressing my ear to the incubator. Ofcourse when it happened my husband called for me to come look because we moved the incubator so it was right in vision for someone to see if they were watching tv. Fingers crossed for you too

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I am on day 22 and at the time I left for work this morning there was no egg movement and no pipping. The temp was so hard to keep in my little bator that I am pretty convinced nothing is going to happen. I'm going to give it one more day, maybe two, and then candle, but I'm pretty discouraged and not sure that I will try it again with the mini dome. Just too hard to regulate. My house has been at 75-76 degrees because of the heat and I still cannot get the thing to hold a steady 100 degrees. Congrats to those of you seeing progress! So exciting!

I Have one chick out and one pipped! But the pipped one has been the same for like 4 or 5 hours! I have a hen waiting to take care of them but im worried beacause the other day a egg under the hen pipped than died!!!!!! IM SCARED HELP ME!!!!!!
