I'm feeling the same thing. It's starting to sleet here and that can not be a good sign. This will be my first time shipping and I would be devastated if they were DOA....Thanks for the advice.

Don't ship serama in this weather they are all likely to arrive DOA especially small ones. I don't advise it. I do know that there are postal regulations on weather not sure what they are but there are certain times they won't allow you to ship. I believe it has to be above freezing temps though. I am thinking the minimum is 35 at both ends.

Not sure what's up with this thing, but that was supposed to be Reese, not cease...

Lol.... That's ok, mine goofs up too. I may not keep all of the ducklings just depends. Keep in touch and we might be able to work something out.

Thanks for the advise. My seramas are under heat lamps and I am worried about sending in this weather. I think I will wait until it gets a little warmer. There way to nice to take chances with....

The boys accidentally broke our piece of crap table yesterday and I couldn't fix it, since it had been fixed before and no new holes could be drilled. G said it was simple, got the drill and fixed the table, except that he screwed it right into the floor. God love men.

WOW -- was going to catch up on reading the post but 222 is a little much!! Anything major happen that anyone can remember. Anyone have a quick update of the day?

Lol!! I feel the same way!!! I've decided I'm not a fan of working full-time... I don't see my kiddos nearly enough, and I fall WAY too far behind on this thread....

So sorry puglady about your BLRW, that is sooo frustrating!! Yay for anyone who has hatched, and sorry for anyone's losses (does that cover it, sorry!!)

LOL on WV's comment on drunk chickens, I would like to add mine to the group... there are 2 big breweries here, I really need to call them... just have been too busy, sheesh!!

DH tells me my GNH are starting to pip from Pauletta, sooo excited, but sooo nervous after my terrible NYE hatch... I think I didn't have enough air flow... fixed that, so hoping for a better hatch....

Hi everybody! My back's really twinge-y tonight and I'm still buried in paperwork

but I wanted to jump on and shout hello. Got the babies all moved downstairs today and into the big brooder. They're hopping all over the place and enjoying the extra room :)

I'll probably be mostly lurking for the next few days still till I get through all this junk, but I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone on this thread, especially to kraftyladies, madamwlf, wvstrutting, msztre, babymakes6, CPL, and KYTinpusher for all the work she does keeping this all in order. You guys are so amazing! It's ever so much nicer slogging through nasty ol' paperwork with happy chicks chirping in the background :)

Feel better soon! I was a CNA when we got married. I loved the job, for the most part (nursing home, Alzheimer's unit-my choice!

), but it is very hard work.
And hey, has anyone seen birdnbeast recently? I know she's been going through a bit of a rough patch. I hope she's okay.
I was just wondering about her myself.
I called a friend who is a postmaster today and she made calls to everyone she knew and no one knew the rule on shipping. She said that they all thought there was a max and min. but they just didn't know what is was. Serama are very sensitive to temperature changes and I'm worried about shipping as cold as it's going to be. I don't know how warm a 72 hour heat pack will keep them. They have never been in any area below 40 degrees.
You can wait to ship them-I am not in any hurry.

See above! These are a gift from Billie Sue because she owed me a swap of eggs and wanted to try sending chicks instead so she knows how to do it.
I'm shipping to babymakes6 so I'm sure she understands...
