I see. Thanks for letting me know! So, is that for only the spring swap? Not entirely sure how that works and which thread, etc.
the moderators, haha....thanks for all the info on incubating... I need to think about it, I guess, maybe I'll post over on the SFH thread, too and see if anyone's tried dry incubating them... actually, juststruttin, how do you incubate your SFH's??
***Hatching Eggs/Paypal Swap Disaster Fund***
Rules & Guidelines
1. The purpose of the Egg Swap Disaster fund is to cover swaps for any member who experiences extreme hardship that results in their inability to fulfill their swap obligations. For example, death, disability, natural disaster, or other catastrophic events wiping out an entire flock.
2. Volunteer donors will be kept on a list, with # of swaps donated, breeds available, and timeline.
3. Volunteer donors should not expect to be compensated for donated eggs and should not ask for compensation of any kind from recipients. (The only compensation available *may* be if the swapper whose swaps are covered by the fund is able to repay the fund at a later date).
4. Volunteers must be current with all of their own swaps at the time of donation.
5. Volunteers will not be asked to fill more than one donated swap per week.
6. Donation Fund Administrator will make every effort to match donated eggs with unfulfilled eggs, however we cannot guarantee perfect matches.
7. Recipients will have one 'free pass', that is, they can either accept or pass on the first offer of donated eggs. They must accept the second offer, or nothing.
8. Any swapper whose swaps must be covered by the Disaster Fund is restricted from swapping until such time that they are able to repay the donation, either in the form of eggs sent to the donor, or $15pp per swap covered.
9. Swappers accept that the existence of this fund does not guarantee that they will receive what they are owed.
10. Any swapper who experiences a significant disaster or life event that results in their inability to fulfill their swap obligations should contact the Disaster Fund Administrator, Overoberyl to request use of the fund. Swappers will be required to submit proof of their hardship before use of the Disaster Fund is approved.
11. Note: This fund is specifically intended to cover unfulfilled swaps caused by disaster or hardship. Unfulfilled swaps caused by failure of the swapper to uphold their obligation for any other reason should be addressed with the Thread Moderator, Crazypetlady, and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
As this is a new venture, constructive feedback is welcome

I use a HovaBator Genesis and add water and they hatch well. I never have luck marans eggs, but plan to try again in the spring and plan to hatch em by themselves - dry.

OK, this is how I interpreted last nights trades and what the status reflects (missing post #’s are just comments that do not affect the swapping) - everyone can learn something from this:

Post #1797(8:40) - crazypetlady “mine”d srpaint’s offer
Post # 1798(8:44) - Daloorashens “mined” crazypetlady’s offer
Post #1799(8:46) - crazypetlady “mine”d Daloorahens’s offer
Post #1800(8:46) - mzstre “mine”d crazypetlady’s offer (post #1799) I am guessing that mzstre was actually trying to claim CPL’s (8:40) offer, but was too late and got lucky that CPL had “mine”d Daloorahens offer before hers could post, but it worked.
Post# 1801(8:46) - Phage tried to mine CPL’s offer (post #1799), but was too late.
Post #1802(8:46) - CPL posts what her offer for the post #1799 is, as post #1799 simply says “mine”. I don’t see this post as claiming an offer, but restating the “mine” for Daloorahens’s offer and putting up what she is offering.

For all of CPL’s posts when she is claiming something, the “mine” is a new post. In post#1802 and #1814, the mine is part of the pasted egg offer list and therefore does not represent a new claim.
If CPL would like to say that post #1802 was a lucky “mine” of mzstre’s offer, and then Overoberyl claimed that offer, to which CPL claimed that with post #1806, that is fine with me, but it will put her at 8 claims for the week.
I can see how this can be interpreted both ways. So, in the future, after the frenzy dies down, please go back and clarify whose offer you are “mine”ing (a post # would be VERY helpful) and edit any posts that were too late to remove the word "mine". Otherwise, I’m going to start charging everyone a swap every time they post the word “Mine”, repost or not!
