To everyone with new puppies, we are trying to get a new puppy for companionship for our GSD. A local no kill shelter has an add up for Golden Retreiver/Border Collie cross. I have got to believe these would be absolutely fabulous dogs. I'm just concerned about my chickens. What do you guys think? If they are raised with the chicks will they be OK?

I don't know about the cross, but my Golden Retriever can have the chickens walk right in front of her nose and she just looks at them.

That would be great. Just whatever you have in the OEGB would be perfect. I am betting they would be heartier than the Serama also.

I had a Golden years ago and absolutely loved her. The neighborhood kids would come over and just wallow her. She loved every minute of it. If one of them got too rough, she would just get up and walk away for a minute. I was just concerned about the bird dog/herding instinct combination really causing some extreme interest in the chickens.

That would be great. I don't have them here. They are ODD gears. It is a plastic gear with 2 sets of teeth. Both are helixal cut teeth. I may have to break down and buy another showtime rotisserie an tear it apart.

Goodness, I'm sorry you are having such a frustrating time with this! What you need is a machinist - they fabricate metal parts. I wonder if someone here knows anyone who does that? Definitely post a pic of the gears. I know you're active on other threads; you should ask there too.

Perhaps someone has a showtime rotisserie that they don't use. I'll check withy mom later today. She had one collecting dust, but I'm not sure what brand or if she still has it.
I found the timer things on Ebay last night so I bought 4 so I will have backups for the next time. We are going to work on getting a permanent fix but at least we will not be under HUGE pressure to fix it. If they ship it Monday I should have it Wed or Thursday.

We know a machinist and he told me to get a rheostat thing.... it just didn't work. It seems my motor (I traded pullet for it) is wired more like a 3 phase motor so it is powerful and I think that made this speed controller thing not work.

Dh is weakening!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked him last nite for a favor since I was helping him a lot with his school work. I told him I needed to build a few more pens, and would he HELP me when I needed it. He said he was thinking about building me a smaller version of the pens I have now... said would probably be more like 4 pens, and asked it that would work.

I woke up to new chicks...and more pips....found out that I may want to re-think hatching Australorp with BBS Maran - Had no idea they would LOOK ALIKE. Darn, now I will have to keep them ALL!!

YES THEY DO, my daughter says that Australorps are the cutest chicks , yes if they are feather legged Marans thats easy.
