Lol! I'm sorry! I have to get the sportsman running sooner than expected anyways, so might as well have that baby filled. Just got new egg flats too, I wasrunning out of them. Hopefully 174 flats will be enough... hmmm 435 dozen... yeah, that might be enough for a little while!
Yes. Sadly I do not think I got this excited over the birth of my own children. As a matter of fact I know I did not with the last one. I threw the preganacy test at my husband as he entered the door. :p
but honestly, chickens are easier to rear than children. I am one of the few people that never had the urge to have any. I think it's because I was used as slave labor babysitting all growing up and I had NO illusions. LOL and I am a ditz and I still have nightmares about suddenly realizing I had a baby or two and I cant find them and then I find them in the laundry hamper all shrivelled up from dehydration (but still alive!) and I am desparately trying to rehydrate them before they do die. yeah, I am damaged.

chickens are easier. and noone thinks you are a horrible person if they are occasionally picked off by wolves.
I will not say which one (but it wasn't the last one), I remember thinking "Oh NO! NO! NO!" but I wouldn't trade any of them for anything! (not even Jubilee Orps OR Cream Legbars!)
I would have to agree with you, Heather, I don't have as many as you, but I just love, love, love my sweet boys

Thank you! I wondered if he was bored, but didn't know what to do about it! Now I do! Thank you! Thank you!
The only time he seems really happy is when I am holding him, or when he is in the bathtub!

I am trying to picture this right now, and somehow I can't quite visualize it! Mind sharing a picture?

LOLOLOLOL Yard...yard i say! :p I am such a dork

I wouldnt trade my boys for anything in the world. In fact I would give away every single bird we own, ALL OF THEM, ducks, geese, chickens could all be given away if I could have my son back who passed away in 2009. The birds have become my therapy after his passing.

I need to go hug my children and remember that everyday with them is a precious gift. Sometimes they drive me crazy and I forget that.

I'm so sorry for your loss Celtic

Can't beat the Bantam Cochins or Bantam Brahmas for adorable fancy footed birds

I would order her a few Sebrights from Mypetchicken and then sell them to her

Ok, forget that. Looks like Mypetchicken is no longer carrying Sebrights.

But they do have a Bantam special that has to ship today. 15 sexed Bantam Females for $99.00 and that includes shipping. Your customer might like some D'uccles maybe? I'm sure you could easily sell the others too.

Hmm...I might order it myself. My customers always want Bantam females

so sorry to hear. My son, which was my last child, has had a lot of problems since birth and we never know what we can expect to happen or what may develop because he has some genetic deletions that no one has ever been documented to have- its day by day. He is roughly 2-3 years behind on most stuff (he is 5). When we bought our farm 2 years ago he would never have anything to do with animals or much of anything for that matter, no toys- nothing. When we started getting chicken and goats he started to get excited (we had a dog but, he didn't seem interested in him at all) he soon started to carry around chickens and hug goats and it has been amazing! Who would have thought having a farm would bring such joy to him- it is his therapy. He has a buff brahma bantam that we have had offers as high as, "you fill in the blank on the check" but, it is Daniels chicken. His name is butterball by the way. I completely feel you that you would give it all up to have him back. Daniels is so excited everyday now. I would give up all I can to keep our farm for him.

Gosh! I love you guys! its like family around here and we talk about everything!

I am so sorry. I cannot imagine losing any of them.
How old was your son? Birds are wonderful therapy-almost as much as a dog.
