right on schedule too!Morning Madam,G'morning peeps. It's going to be a beautiful day and a busy one for me. Got some babies to move outside. Yeah!! They have out grown their brooder big time. I get to finally use my sweet heater out there. I will hopefully be able to empty 3 brooders into a 6x6 coop. Only ones left in the house are the really young ones and the ones leaving Friday. Woo hoo!!!
And if anyone is interested in some bantam Chocolate Wyandotte roosters, PM me. I have tons.

So sorry Brandy...you can have some of my eggs...I have too many anyway.
Well, I candled this morning and I think all the MFLs made it through the cooling. I only had 6 of the 12 developing (PO must have been tough on them), and I have movement in all 6 of those. I only had 2 OD in this bator (quite a few in the other, whew) and I think one may have made it. I can't tell about the BLRWs because the eggs are so speckled, but at least they're from my own flock. The duckies, however, I'm not so sure about. I may have seen movement in one (had 7), but it may have been my imagination. Those are the ones I'm pulling for the most. The 2 ducklings that hatched last week are the sweetest, funniest little things ever!

CPR - That's pretty coll that you get to move away from the crazy neighbor! and cool on the two new breeds.
Mstre- I just had something similar happen with this power outage. (We still don't have power by the way!) and I have 16 new babies so far. but they were due to hatch on friday and are still hatching now so give them some extra time.
Not having power is really starting to bite. the main issue is hot running water. we have to wait for the wood stove to heat up in order to make coffee...so i still dont have any this morning. And you really dont realize how much you use hot water during the day until you dont have it. just for a rag to wipe down the counter or clean up a spill. we have hand sanitizer but it just doesn't do eveything that hot water can.
so 5 days and counting...thank gooodness for the wood stove and the generator. (we have the fridge and freezer intact!)

We had a storm come thoughon tuesday...lots of really wet, heavy snow. lost power just as my incubator was going into lockdown.

They do have some beautiful breeds coming out this year. I like the black ones (can't remember the name), but I just don't know if I could bring myself to eat black meat with black bones. I know that its the same,as regular chicken, but my brain and my mouth disagree on this point.I was kidding.but I do have deposits on 2 new breeds to be released this year.
