Morning all......................Michelle sorry he is being a jerk, glad you have other options though (your bank) since he (seller) obviously is out of his mind.

Well the LLO's are missing, gone,MIA and its now Saturday. I feel sick knowing they stuck in a box with nothing with them. The jerk at the PO made Gable remove the apples from the box so they are stuck with nothing to eat at all. The jerk at the PO didnt hold onto the box either and it fell while he was checking it in and caused us to loose a hen before they ever shipped. Poor Gable had to take her out of the box and to a vet to be put down (broken leg in 2 spots from the fall). I hate to think about it, but it is looking like we will be getting a box of dead adult birds when ever the box finally arrives.

on a better note.....2weeks later and I "think" I am finally getting over this crud.

Oh my goodness! That is TERRIBLE! The PO strikes again.

yes getting wet and getting chilled while wet thanks to the USPS giving them a cup of water will bring on shipping stress. <sigh> about want to smack every other PO worker anymore.
Yeah, I am just having a little bit of a panic attack when I lost another 2 this morning. It has been about 1 or 2 every morning. They are all eating, chirping and looking healthy and happy running around. Then I find them dead. I keep worrying that I am doing something wrong or I should be doing something more for them, but they are in with my day old bantams and I haven't lost any of the bantams. Is there something more I should be doing for them?

This week has been beyond unusual. We have never lost (doa) a bird in transit from the newly hatched to adults EVER. We have also never had a box be more than 1 day late ever, and all birds arrived A-ok then too. I dont know what happened this week, but it is deffinetly not the norm I am use to with shipping 4-12 boxes a week each spring.

Agreed. I'm not sure what it was, but something definitely went wrong this week.

I've gotten and sent many birds and only lost 1 chick ever and that was a shipment across country. So strange that so many packages went missing, so many birds missing, and so many DOAs all in one week.

How do you mix small batches of grogel? Instructions say mix contents of pack with two quarts of water. I just need enough for a dozen chicks.
1/4 cup water
1 tsp gro gel, add more water as needed. I seem to always add more water after it is mixed

ALL FIVE LLO's ARE ALIVE...... DH should pull back in here shortly

I just take a little out and mix a tiny bit of water, keep stirring and adding until you get to the gel like consistency you want.... that is what I do anyways

And a little bit of the powder stuff goes a LONG WAYS.. you will see

Quote: nutri drench in the water can help, yogurt (plain) hardboiled egg yolk. If they are stressed it is hard to bounce them back. Are they warm enough or too warm? (My only other thought) But again after what the PO put them through I am not shocked. Is it just the chicks or chicks and ducks both?
