You know that means you have to buy our silence by sending us each a set of hatching eggs, right?

Don't worry I'll be more than happy to offer them!!!! I just want them for our eating purposes because I'm a geeky chef foodie kid!

For me owning them is my version of winning the lottery! I love raising ridiculously delicious food. We have people fighting over our pigs already for this year because we only do a limited number on pasture which we finish on local hazelnuts. Let's just say I have a friend who said there was no way there was that big a difference so we did a bacon test with store bought over the counter premium 12$/lb bacon and our bacon and he sent us a check for $200 to reserve his side the next day! It's pretty

So to be able to do the same thing with the Bresse....... They're going to forage on about 1-2 acres of newly orchard pasture and I think we're going to finish them on hazelnuts and dairy as well for the last two weeks instead of corn. We won't cage them but we're going to fence it so that they have limited pasture for the last two weeks!

their area will be to the tree line behind our main coop. We've got tons of apple, pear, plum, cherry and nut trees that we are planting there! It's going to be chicken heaven!

That is a LOVELY homestead, AyeUpChuck!!!

Thanks! We like it quite a great deal. Our place is 5 acres on an 80 acre ranch and we do co-op animal husbandry projects with our fantastic owners who own the majority of the property. It's a pretty amazing spot.

I am about to cry. The baby just threw up everywhere and now I'm getting anxious about why these guys are getting sick all the time. I can't stomach the anxiety and I know it's going to be another long sleepless night. Not handling this well, even though I logically know its probably just another virus picked up from school.
I don't think I was ever supposed to be a parent. I get so anxious about them my stomach feels like dropping out and I get dizzy.

I think that means you are a very good parent. Half of our hospital admissions right now are the same thing. ER is full, gonna be a busy nite for me. It's gonna be a bad year for the flu, etc. bad strain coming from what I've been reading

Big hugs to you!! We have been going threw it too. Seems like every 2 weeks someone in the family is sick with something.
