Oh...my...goodness. Those are beautiful, they look like little cherub chicks. o.o I hope you post pictures as they grow. Wowee they certainly are lookers.
Well I have 6 new project babies. I would probably have more but one got stuck under the turner and I had to rescue it and the one that had pipped got shrink wrapped and the other 3 didn't hatch. I can't believe that I held those eggs back that long and 6 out of 9 hatched. Well I helped the shrink wrapped one a little bit ago. I can finally clean my bator and start over again.

Well, the mail just ran. The eggs sent Priority by Jim last Monday still are not here. Now they can't arrive until Monday. A full week of PO handling and aging. I am grumpy. The DC shows no activity since the initial sorting center on the 18th. Those things are worthless if nobody scans them.

I will have a small incubator warmed up for them so as soon as they come to room temp they can go in, with no turning. I'll keep them like that two days, then put them in the Sportsman. They were very fresh eggs, and I expect some will hatch despite all this, but he sent me eggs from good birds, and I was really looking forward to these.

I will repeat my statement of a couple days ago. NO more egg ordering for me in December.

I hear you on the PO thing. I sent some Buff Fav eggs to California and OE eggs to NC and the OE eggs got there after two days and the OE eggs which only had to go a few hundred miles still aren't there. They sent them to Portland who sent them back to my PO who sent them back to Portland who THEN sent them to California!

I am scared to check the tracking on stuff I have sent out this week.

Ok, so the other day I was mentioning to DH that I was thinking of worming the BR that are in the tractor. They are looking a little tough and haven't layed an egg in at least a month or so. I picked up some wormer when I was at TSC the other day, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Yesterday, DH tells me that he used the wormer in the main coop (trying to be helpful

) on every one of my hens that are currently laying

and of course he didn't worm the BR.
So, I am going to have a TON of eggs over the next couple of weeks that I can't eat and my incubator is full until NYD or so. I told DH that I will just have to save a lot of the eggs and put them in the bator after the current batch has hatched in January. And THEN he tells me he promised my incubator to a good friend of ours that wants to hatch eggs in her preschool class in January. While I know she will be hatching our eggs and we will be getting the chicks back, I hate to entrust a lot of my purebred eggs to a classroom of preschoolers. Our friend is an excellent teacher, but anything can happen in a classroom.

So, DH says "I hate to say this, but I guess you'll have to get another incubator."
