I am about to cry. The baby just threw up everywhere and now I'm getting anxious about why these guys are getting sick all the time. I can't stomach the anxiety and I know it's going to be another long sleepless night. Not handling this well, even though I logically know its probably just another virus picked up from school.
I don't think I was ever supposed to be a parent. I get so anxious about them my stomach feels like dropping out and I get dizzy.

Ah, poor sweetie. Hugs, they'll all be better soon.

Sah, don't give the kids food or water for the next 24 hrs. If they have fevers, as long as the fever is less than 102 degrees, you can give them Tylenol suppositories to help them feel better. Don't give the Tylenol by mouth as they will just throw it right back up. After 24 hours, you can start hydrating them again with clear chicken broth, spoonfuls at a time. My brother is a pediatrician and this is the advice he gives for stomach flu.
If they have fever higher than 102 degrees, you may want to call their doctor. I hope it is just a case of stomach flu and they will be fine soon.

Thanks guys. I am glad I can whine about it on here. I always make it so much worst for myself, but I really just don't handle this stuff well

Turkey eggs and lone duck egg all moved over to the hatcher... I am not sanguine on the turkeys. None of them look like a chick ready to hatch in two days. Only two look to have development at all and honestly, I think they quit on me

(Not that I blame them, with everything they went through...)

My duck, however, is clearly alive and kickin'! So here's hoping on at least one little furry fuzzball!

Thank you.
The one thing I am relieved about is neither boys have fevers. We all dealt with/dealing with this head cold... Then last night my oldest woke up and puked once. He has been fine to day except for a little wet bowels. The baby half threw up last night, then went the whole day without, just has a lot of congestion, and gross diapers. My husband was holding him, Silas drifted off to sleep, then woke up and puked a lot just once. I kept him up for a little, bathed him, wrapped him up and then just now he feel back asleep.
Rationally, without a fever, I think it's just a bug... But I still get really freaked out when night time comes and they all of a sudden start getting sick

I don't have any kids, but I remember lots of times when everyone in the whole house was sick when I was a kid...illness rolls through families once the kids get to be school aged. normal but REALLY NOT FUN. ezpecially not for the one who has to be the adult.

I am in awe of people who can be parents. I really am. I am 43 and I have never felt responsible enough to take it on. I aplaud you for braving all of the ups and downs of it. sorry that you are having a down.

i don't know how old your kiddos are, but mine get some wicked stomach bugs, like vommiting for 24 hours straight about every 20-30 minutes and that's WITH 4-8mg of zofran. i just throw a comfortor on the living room floor with a huge bowl and stay on the couch and keep cleaning up the puke. my mom is a pediatric RN at the childrens hospital in the ER, my dh is a fireman/paramedic and my nextdoor neighboor is also a peds nurse at the hospital. i understand your anxiety, i am a pastrychef! i know nothing except PANIC!!!! but, i do know that when we had all three kids tonsils and adnoids removed, they stopped bringing home every cold, sniffle and croup. but it didn't prevent me from getting whooping cough 3 years ago.

If they are congested, have a humidifier going to help them breathe. The dry air could worsen the congestion and cause them to gag. In young children, the gagging could cause them to throw up.

Haha ahh! Maybe that is it! I was a sous chef before having children, so it must be the chef in me planning worst case scenario that causing my panic attacks!
I don't envy the stomach bugs you dealt with, I would have to be committed, but I DO envy having people in the family with medical training. I don't have anyone... I have considered going back to school just to know how to handle these things.
I have calmed myself down enough so breathing doesn't hurt... Thanks you guys. It is wonderful to be able get opinions and suggestions without harassing the after hour doctor lines. My husband tells me to calm down, it will be ok... But then he said "do you think it's something in the house causing it?" so then I was thinking how its probably my fault for not cleaning better hahaha oh well. I never claimed to have good mental health!
