Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

If you are interested, I have a bunch of OE/EE eggs that I can send you just for the cost of shipping. DH wormed the hens so we can't eat them. You wouldn't have to worry too much if she didn't stay on them long enough to hatch as you wouldn't have much in them. Or find a local store that carries fertile eggs (Whole Foods or Trader Joes for example) and put those under her - it would be quick and she might get a few to hatch.

LOL. Thanks!!!! What a great and kind offer! If CRfarm wasn't already sending me some today I would DEFINITELY take you up on this.
I cant get over how wonderful everyone is in this group.

I watched our roo, Xander, this morning and he is definitely TRYING to "get some" but the girls aren't letting him. Spike (so sad) was a "grab-the-gril-by-the-hair-whether-she-likes-it-or-not" kinda guy. Xander just wanders off, dejected.

I like the guy. I hope the girls take pity on him soon. they are freeranging and can get away easilly. I wonder if I should go ahead and pen up the barnvelders in a more confined space so they can't get away from him.

Good morning everyone!! I timed my egg setting pretty good. Just put some Isbars in lockdown and had chickies waiting for me this morning. Now, they are all being noisey in the living room.

Cute!
I always try to time mine to hatch overnight cause otherwise I am crazy with the staring all day...rarely works out though! I have a batch piping now that I can't stop myself from running upstairs to check on every 30mins.

I know what you mean. I just want to sit and watch them hatch. That would be so nerve wracking though

My eggs finally arrived. Well, they arrived yesterday, but they put them in the carrier's car, knowing they wouldn't fit in the box and they'd leave a pickup slip for today. I can't pick them up if they're out with the carrier! Despite totally awesome packing, they broke three, which tells me the box had been badly handled and the eggs abused. I'll hope some lived through it.

I am both happy and bummed.

Heart is broken.... All my chicks and chickens survived the blizzard, but one of my peahens feet froze to an outside roost and when I tried to help her she flew straight up and hit a pole and broke her neck. I have had her since she was 2 days old..... I guess she was freaked out and jumped out of fear. Still a horrible loss. Makes for a sad day.....
On a better note woke up to 2 silver phoenex chicks this morning. They are cheeping so loud we had to turn up tv!:D
