Good morning all.

So a rather eventful morning. My last batch of eggs hatched 2 days ago except one silkie egg from Debs_flock. I left it in thinking it wouldn't make it. I've been keeping an eye on it since I have to go in the hatcher to turn the duck eggs several times a day. Well, yesterday it pipped. And today a showgirl hatched! Wow, I've never had such a late bloomer. I'm seriously hoping the little one makes it.

Ok, just went out and braved the light to get some new pictures. I assume she was a light blue. But after seeing a lavender, I can't see a difference between her and a lav

I WILL say the black cockerel has poor black color. He isn't at all glossy like my last black amer was, he is very slate/sooty looking

And your black is a dark blue!

That is the darkest sootiest blue I have every seen I have NEVER had that broad of a blue color spectrum in my Cochins!
Well, I am fine either way... Guess Susan won't e getting any free lavenders then, sorry Susan!!

Your photos are blurry except the first one but if you could hold the roo and get a clear photo of those feathers I can say 100% but I'm 90% sure it's a dark blue! I have blue Cochins and their colors are all over the spectrum! I don't breed to sell them somI don't care..I just like their fatness!!
