Poor little guy!! I understand how you feel. We are in SC and have the fire ants in our yard and they are nasty. So easy to step on a mound and not know it and they boil out and are on you in seconds. It takes a long time for those blisters to stop itching and go away. One cure we were told about and have used is Hemorrhoid Paste on them. It seems to stop the itching quicker. I would love to use a really harsh chemical to kill them all, but can't do it because of our drinking water well, chickens, ducks, dogs and people that would be exposed and harmed. Darn those ANTS!!!!

Mine too! Usually I get early hatches. These were due Fri, had a pip Thurs night, then one out last night, the others are still pipped/zipped.
Aww... I had one chick in the current hatch insist on playing football with every egg in the incubator. Just like his/her fresh little mama, that one.. it even insisted on helping one zip.. :smack
I have one that pipped on the bottom and then it rolled onto the side and I thought for sure it was dead but now it looks like there is a new pip beside the old one, now 24 hours later. These little ones are taking their sweet time! Come on, chickies... :fl

Wow! Busy thread this morning! Finally all caught up. I lived in Texas for a few years (military spouse at the time). One day my son came home with all these white blisters/bumps. I had no idea what they were, I looked up chicken pox, measles, small pox etc. a local saw him and said, "oh poor baby looks like you found a nest of fire ants!" I had never heard of them! He was 18 months at the time....long time ago. Ant bites here are a minor irritation. Anyhow, poor kid with the fire ant bites.

I am all about barter. Unfortunately I don't have my usual barter tool online. my husband is the ultimate handy man, and he speaks electronics. We have yet to find something that he can't fix. For example, he can fix a cracked iPhone screen. I get my hair done for free, free baby sitting, and lots of costume type stuff made for me (one of the recent items was a leather purse that clips on to belt loops or a belt, like a stylish fanny pack, I guess. He fixed her car window). Currently we are remodeling our bathroom, and have friends helping out (no barter in this case, but building on good kharma). Anyhow, I am working on being able to barter in chicken land, but am just a bit new to this world still. At this point, I have cash that I can offer, which is why I am so grateful for this swap.

Hello everyone! I wish I had the waving smiley face guy on the iPad.

Thanks all. Silas (the fire ant bitten baby) doesn't even express any discomfort from the bites. I feel so bad, though.

Does anyone have enough standard brown coturnix quail to fill an order for 50 eggs in a day or two?
I just sold a bunch of point of breeding quail, and I am tired of vent sexing A&Ms and Tibetans to give people the hens they want.
I am going to just focus on auto sexing quail to make life a lot easier.
I would also take 30+ Italian/manchurian and 20+ wild/standard brown

Lol..anyhoo...I've been celebrating as my phone has been going off from people snatching up my stuff!!! I'm having so much fun! Now IM REALLY digging out stuff and listing it!!! Yippy!!!

Wow! That is great! I hope you make a bundle!

Anyone interested in a mixed laying/meat flock? Should get cornish cross mixes to eat and hens should lay white, light brown, olive and possibly blue eggs.

I also need to go through everything and sell off extra dishes and whatever else we don't need. Need money more than I need extra crap to move!
