Honestly I'm not angry with GFF. There are so many variables. I'm just praying that it's nothing, if that's possible. Going to contact the avian dept at OSU tomorrow and see what I should do as far as testing. Luckily I do have a quarantine space. I'd never throw foreign birds in with my flocks.

Yes after that 1 bad experience I am overly careful. I will be waiting to see what you find out since I just got my white Breese the week before you.

i'm so sorry for you!i will be praying these sweets get better and you find out what it is fast! I've never had a prob so i'm not much help...thanks to several people here that have more insight and can help.

It looks like I can give them Denagard. It's says it can't be used with ionophores so I had to double check the things they've had. I feel much better today. I think I was overly emotional due to lack of sleep combined with the fact that I'm even more enamored with his breed since they arrived. They're probably one of the most friendly docile breeds. And you're right rachael, they look like little white eagles. They're just so gentle and wonderful. I'm glad that I have five chicks if everything goes south. And I'll probably be making the hicks from the CE backward swap bresse as well I this doesn't work out.

I really hope y'all take on this breed. They're truly wonderful birds. They even look patriotic ta boot with the red white and blue!

Off to pick up some free heavy duty t posts! Well trade. 20 6' posts for 4 chicks seems pretty gosh darn good to me!!!!

They are awesome birds. They remind me of the Hedemora who look like eagles as too and are great temperaments as well. And the bielefelder roo is sooo awesome his temperament, when I hold him he chatters to me the whole time and he is 4 times bigger than birds I have that hatched within days of him.

Another bio security reminder when bringing in birds I had birds in from 3 different sources and I had let one of the local government officials in to see my birds around the same time and I got fowl pox. It either came from the birds or the government dude dragged it in on his shoes, who knows where else he had been. No one else is ever getting into my coops again. Hopefully the neighbor stuff is dying down but you do not have to let any of these people into your coops no matter what they say. We were being nice and trying to resolve the neighbor/chicken drama but no one is getting in here again without a search warrant. This is what our attorney told us.

x2 I don't like anyone in my coops. People look at me weird but its just too easy to drag stuff in. Thats a discussion I have to have with my neighbor once our bresse project is fully underway. She's big on sharing experience with people. The agreement has to be that people aren't allowed in their pasture bar us. We did pigs together this year and when they were young there were people brought into their pasture way more than I was okay with. It's just not a risk I'm comfortable with.
