Take your pick.  I have swaps to fill with the paints and the orps aren't laying yet.

Are your LF Orps laying?
I will take the Orps if you really want to trade! I also have a pound of medium Seattle's best I will ship with the pumpkin spice for a couple extra eggs, if you like regular coffee

I would say I even marked the egg wrong...but it doesn't look like a lav or splash with the pattern. But am curious to see...it is cute. Gonna see if I can get a good pic.

Oh, and my incubator is being shipped tomorrow!!! I didn't need the humidity pump did I? I figured the water tray would be enough if I am not hatching in it?

I am SOOOO ENVIOUS!! I think once I save up and build my breeding pens, I am going to save up for a nice cabinet incubator. Tell everyone in my family I don't want any birthday, anniversary or Christmas presents. Just chip in for the Bator ;)

I will take your old incubators off your hands in the meanwhile ;)

I just ran down and candled while tossing more eggs in the incubator. Looks like 2 developing (one with a wonky shaped air, the other normal). The others show 2 detached air cells, hard to tell but I don't see definitive development in the others. So hard with those dark shells. Will leave them all in there for now. Darn PO did a number on them. Grumble. Still miffed at them for leaving the box out on the curb instead of bringing it into the office like they do with any other box they deliver.

! Krafty~ Sigh to your order of a Dickey. Can not wait to save up for a "real" incubator. Hopefully will have a Dickey or Sportsman by this time next year! :) Congratulations.
Ill have to send you some more in the spring when it isn't quite so cold. Their egg color will be really great then as well! One of the new girls has been laying a very speckled egg and her paint is really starting to even out and I think she's going to have a solid 7 come spring.

No worries, it's the risk of living in Wisconsin in January. You certainly don't have to replace them, it is an obvious combination of PO taking forever, harsh handling, and trying to freeze the eggs. However, if you happen to send some this spring, I won't turn them down. :D I get such a kick out of the variability of Marans eggs ranging from smooth and dark to dark with splotches and everything in between. Miss having them in my laying pen!

LOL at my little chicks (in the huge incubator behind me). I played them some music and had 20 heads snap up, point in the same direction at attention, and listen to the entire song. Now they are practicing flying and jumping up the little steps to the "2nd floor" where their water is housed to keep them from fouling it instantly with bedding. They've having a blast.

Oops. Madamwlf- I just looked at the coffee. They are 11 oz bags, so I have one full of pumpkin spice, and another which is maybe a third full :/
Then I have a 12 oz bag of level 4 Seattle's best, and a 11 oz bag of the weird strawberry shortcake kind (doesn't appeal to me, but I'm not a fan of the flavored unless hazelnut)
I will send them all to you if you still want to trade. I am sorry, I thought they where 1lb bags and that the opened bag was still pretty full.

I just wanted to post hello.

I filled out the form yesterday, will be timed in for 1st swap 2/2213 but not expecting to actually have anything to swap until March.

I'm getting a SQ/Heritage Buckeye Trio in 2 wks :) once they get settled in then I'll be checking fertility b/f I offer eggs.

Meanwhile, our kitchen Fridge/Freezer quit working yesterday, DH joked I could turn it into a large incubator,
you don't suppose I could hold him to that? ; >

FeyRaine! And welcome!

Absolutely -- he said it, didn't he? And wow, if it's a side by side how perfect would that be? One side for incubating, one side for hatching... Hee!

OK I am working on coops and runs...I have 2 3X4 foot coops that will be done today. They will have runs attached 4 feet by 16 OR 4 feet by 22 depending on how many birds you guys think I can put in the coop/run. Right now I am looking at SFH in one and bantam cochins in the others. So I am looking for advice! how many bird and which size run?
