I sure hope it's warm there. It sure isn't here.

Anyone have any idea what could make a yolk membrane break easily? I used quite a few eggs in omelets this morning and noticed that several eggs had yolks that broke open by themselves. Could that be nutrient related? The shells were sturdy and the albumen was thick. I feed freshly milled, organic feed and supplement with fodder and free choice oyster shells. Each breed gets rotated for foraging. Suggestions?

I was window shopping for hatching eggs on ebay this morning and I saw a listing for CCL eggs, the seller said that they are selling pullet eggs, and because they're pullet eggs they will hatch mostly females. They were also the most expensive CCL eggs listed, and no bids.

ummm....anyone heard this one before?

Don't you think that if that were true the seller would hatch out their own pullet eggs? I thought it was ridiculous that they were even selling pullet eggs, and at the price listed.

You can sell hens for a lot more then a bunch of ole eggs.
