One of my little old farmer men buddies, told me that we are getting a snowstorm soon. He is normally accurate in his weather forecasts...more so then the weatherman on TV.

I'm off for a bit. Waiting on the cable guy and I'm betting he would like for me to greet him at the door in something other then PJ's and a robe this time....lolololol

COF- WOW that came out nice!

I wanted to order a cabinet from him but he was about a month out on orders and I can't wait that long

I wound up ordering the Brinsea Ova 190 but I am DEFINITELY ordering a hatcher from him! What great craftsmanship!

Congrats and good luck with it!

you WILL love it. We discussed last night and are ordering a second one lol They will run goose only all spring freeing up everything else for duck chicken and muscovy

Since I am planning on taking a trip up to see Meg the 1st weekend in May and then we are going up to MD, I would like to offer to bring eggs/chicks to people if I can. IF possible, and the ones that are laying already cooperate, etc, etc. I am not very sure of the route, or stops..... Somehow maybe between now and then it can be coordinated (with Meg of course). If you are along the route, and would like to consider this, please PM me and we will see what can be done.

Cool! I have several egg swaps with you that you can wait to give me until then if you want! glad to not have them go through the USPS system!

They talk a good game about preserving genetic diversity, but I'm afraid of the damage they may be doing in the meantime by producing hundreds of chicks from 5-10 imported birds. The whole U.S.'s stock comes from such a small gene pool.

yeah, this concerns me a bit, too with all the breeds that they've been importing. no genetic diversity.
thanks, I am very VERY impressed with his work. Plugged it in yesterday around 3 and by 4 it was at temp and steady. Loaded all the goose eggs in it last night.
that thing is gorgeous!!! congrats on a great purchase!
Just did a re-con of the incubator. Since one batch is currently hatching, that leaves 54 chicken eggs and six turkey eggs. Four hatch dates in March. I candled the ones that are nine days in, and of eight cuckoo/blue cuckoo Marans eggs, one looks clear, but may be a slow bloomer. The rest are developing. Of eight Barnevelders from Pysankygirl, same thing. One clear, the rest developing. A dozen EE/OE eggs from KYtinpusher look to have two clears, but the rest look like they are developing, too! Those are mighty fine numbers for shipped eggs! Hopefully, they will all make it to lockdown!

60 eggs. That bator is dang near empty!
So thrilled that the eggs I sent you didn't get too scrambled!!!! I hope they keep going!!!!!

dry counties? what the heck is that? LOL Actually I don't drink unless I am in a social situation and then it is nice to have something to make me more...um...social. I have introvert tendencies. a glass of wine helps with that. or...my favorite...coffee with Baileys!

It is just killing me that my husband is down in Orlando and he is refusing to go visit Celtic and pick up some eggs for me. and he had the nerve to tell me last night that I need to stop hatching chicks. I got only 2 girls in my last batch!!!! the rest are going to freezer camp!!! why cant spouses understand chicken math!!! I envy you guys who have chicken spouses!!!

WHAT?? He could so meet us and bring your eggs back! The Air port is 25 minutes away from our driveway

I know, right? He doesn't understand at all...it's just killing me. He says that he doesn't want to transport them in his soft sided bag...I'm like: she will PACK them with bubble wrap and you carry them on in a box!

You guys with supportive spouses don't know how good you have it...or maybe you do. Give them a big huge hug for me! I am just so frustrated!!!

Be careful what you wish for...mine is now getting a little too bird crazy. I was excited when he decided to get a few birds of his own. But now he is starting a list of all the breeds HE wants to get. That is great until you realize that HE isn't the one here at home caring for the bazillion birds every day.

Yep I could hand wrap, pack and tape the box shut with our NPIP papers on it showing fertile hatching eggs for the trip home. No effort on his part
