Ugh still no power for you? That stinks! We got it back late Friday. This area just doesn't know how to handle snow. Hope you get it back soon.

Thanks!!! I think my specific area (very low population density) is just a low priority for them. we only got about 8 inches but it was the wettest heaviest snow ever. up on the mountain my mom said they got 24!!!

the funny thing is...here it is all gone now! (well mostly)
my hair looks a fright. I am glad y'all cant see me.

It's kind of a downside to claiming things in the fall for spring delivery......sometimes plans change..

And some of us are sitting here almost BESIDE ourselves waiting for those spring babies! You people KNOW who you are that I'm waiting on...or if you swap a lot you might NOT remember me.....

i will remind you...

I am just so excited about Herduck's trip I cant stand it. it's cheering me up through all this waiting to see if my eggs will actually make it through this dumb power thing. husband is going to flip, though. I just keep telling him..."but half of them are going to be boys..."

I have chicks hatching in the bator, marans (mine) and russian orloffs from CPL and a test hatch of my new trio of coronations who have NOT received the memo that it is a free loading farm!

Already have a trio of the new coro's sold to a lucky local person with a trio of black copper marans. LOTS more chick orders to fill.

Hello all! This has been a great chicken weekend for me!! I got to meet some of the local chicken nuts :) Friday, I met a lady who offered to give me some frizzled EE hatching eggs for a test hatch. She also threw in a serama egg and some barnyard mixes. With my luck, just the serama will hatch :/ but we keep trying. I am loving the hova bator. Steady temp all the way :)

Saturday, I drove up to Logan, about two hours north of me and picked up some wheaten ameracauna chicks and some (hatchery) houdans. The houdans were sexed pullets, so I can use the best of those for my breeding program, I hope. The weather was perfect driving weather. Beautiful clear day, but too cold and windy to really want to be outside in it. I think I need to go on pleasure drives more often... Hope all is well in chicken land :)

Well I just got back from selling my ducks. $100 for 12 POL ducks is not great, but it sure will come in handy with gas prices so high! And my chicken sitter won't have to deal with them. They are also keeping the pair of welsh harlequins I want to keep for me while I am gone.
