Hey my husband said this to me the other day and thought maybe I should share it here, maybe some one else might appreciate it. He asked "If you put a cadbury egg in the incubator could you hatch an Easter bunny?!!" he he he I thought it was funny anyway!

I have a couple questions...

How do you package your eggs?
What was the worst packaging of eggs you have received?

I don't want to call anyone out. This is not in any way meant to hurt anyone's feelings. I am curious because... well. I am. That's all I can say right now.

I individually wrap each egg in bubble wrap, place them in a lined medium flat rate box and fill around them with news paper, peanuts or shavings (I reuse everything I get sent before using new). I line a #7 Priority box and place the flat rate box inside and pack whatever of the previous packing materials listed around that box.

I have had 3 what I call badly packed egg shipments. I what to know what your worst was.

afternoon all................ busy day delivering our large easter duckling order today. We average 200-300 ducklings during the month that Easter falls in. We are at the mid way point and at just over 200 hatched.

Thanks for the welcomes, ect..............always fun to add in another addiction, I mean need to hatch.

Madam if those babies are fully feather the bantams will hold their own if older in age.

Quote: My worst was when the sender ran low on packing material and sent the eggs anyways. Multiple broken eggs and the rest covered in egg goo and nothing hatched.

Second worst was a set of goose eggs the sender packed in a USPS shoe box with little padding other than 1 layer of bubble wrap and a bit of packing paper.

Does anyone have CCL that they would be willing to do a side swap for? I don't have any chickens laying right now, but I could offer Pilgrim goose eggs. They are still young, so the eggs are on the small side, but I have been getting good fertility on them. If you're not interested in that, once my Silkies or Rhodebars begin to lay (June/July/August), I could offer eggs from them. If all else fails, maybe we can work out some paypal. If you have any, please PM me. Thanks!!!

I have had them sent to me wraped in papertowel and tissue (kleenex) then stuffed into a grocery sack and put in a box. The box was wrapped in a plastic garbage bag by the PO. It was pretty gross.
I have alos had eggs sent to me in a tin. thin bubblewrap wrapped on them and nothing between them and the tin, so they broke. lol
Ohhhh the fun one....
I had button quail eggs shipped to me loose in a box of cross cut shredded paper. It was like the easter basket from %^&&. I was supposed to get 30. I actually hunted through the shaved and cross cut paper for most of them, but they did not hatch.

My three: All basically put the eggs in a carton, one wrapped the eggs with TP, one just put bubble wrap on top of them and one put shredded paper around them and laid bubble wrap on top (this way wasn't as bad as the others, but it still left the eggs move around). All then wrapped the cartons in bubble wrap, place them in a box and filled the box with packing materials - shredded paper, bubble wrap and crumpled newspaper. I have had one that them loose in shredded paper - Easter basket from $%^# there, too. I actually found one I missed on Monday while packing another shipment of mine to go out.
