Just got home from a LONG day of driving. Picked up two 1202s though one is going to live elsewhere and got o go and visit our weaner piglets!!!!! Very exicting. Also the guy that I got the cabinets from through in some hardware cloth goose/emu holders for the racks and a hatching basket with high sides and three dividers AND a bag of organic pork and beef cuts! Oh and he have me $40 off the price of the bators for gas!!!! Super nice guy! Have a feeling we'll be doing more business in the future! Hope all is well with everyone. I'm going to help a little 10month old learn how to walk and maybe take a nap!
Wow!!! That is GREAT! Sounds like a person I'd love to do business with again!

I finally got to leave work, pick my puppy up from the vet....he had an entropion eye tack today...
Of course, I had to look up what that was. Strange that they use staples to do that, but apparently, it is pretty effective.

Speaking of turkeys....I have them hatching today! ProfTi turkeys. Out of six eggs, only three made it to lockdown. I did eggtopsies, and can blame the USPS for that one. All three had totally scrambled yolks. That's why the heavy shadow on ten day candling, that made me think they were doing like everyone else's and growing. With that evidence of rough handling, I'm amazed that the other three were still viable, but two are out and one is working on it.

I am really beginning to hate the entire USPS...and our local offices particularly.

But the poults that are out are strong and healthy!

**** turkey killing, yolk scrambling, box losing USPS!!!!

Yea for happy, healthy, peeping turkey babies. That's my boy!!!!!

Got baby pics??

I am assuming that if a rabbit is making a nest, there is a reason for it. I've never had rabbits in this set up before and I have a doe making a nest. Today would be day 31 after breeding. The reason I seem so unsure is for the fact that I didn't think the buck got her. He never did his little thing and she practically ran from him the whole time.
It doesn't take them but a couple seconds...lol. If she is building a nest, I bet you can count on little hoppers before too long.

How could you not love this?

hey all,

got a question (basic turkey incubation question).... do you incubate turkey eggs on their sides (like ducks and geese) or do you incubate them like chicken eggs- small side down?

1st time for turkeys for me.....any tips on incubation and care of poults would be wonderful

thanks,

don

(btw: I asked this question on the turkey thread but got no response)

I did them in the turner, same as chickens.

I meant to quote you earlier, but lost the post. I have CCL laying pretty well right now, what did you have that you wanted to swap?

I bet you will see babies in the morning.

They used non-absorbing sutures on Levi. No staples. I would think staples could be uncomfortable in themselves!
