It depends on the size of your operation and the risk you are willing to take. The biggest issue with turkeys and chickens is that chickens carry Blackhead. When chickens get it, they are usually Ok. If turkeys get it, the fatality rate is over 90%. So, every source will recommend that you not have chickens with turkeys to err on the side of caution. I can't really separate mine (I only have an acre), so I am really, really rigourous about biosecurity. If you understand Blackhead you can manage it better. In short, it lives in the Cecal worms of poultry and when it is expressed in feces it lives in the dirt. Where the exposure happens when the birds eat the worms. If your chickens don't have Blackhead and you are really, really careful not to have it on your property you will probably be ok. Also, I raise my chicks and poults together on different land (baby chickens that have never been on dirt can't have it) until the turkeys are 16 weeks. After 16 weeks, I put them in with the adult chickens because strong and healthy turkeys at that age have usually developed immunities. I have never had any problems. None of the small scale family farms I have worked with have had trouble with Blackhead. But it can devastate your flock so serious raisers wont even have chickens and turkeys on the same property. For, me it is a risk I take.Does anyone on here keep their adult chickens and turkeys together?

Quote: no need for ninja skills, it isnt the first to respond who gets theoffer with the reverse swap.
Those who signed up to offer will go one at a time, list their item (s) that are up available
then anyone else can post a "bid" offer back. Can be anything from eggs, live birds, PP, handmade goods ect. Multiple people will be bidding on theoffer at the same time.
Then the person making the offer has 5 minutes to Pick a winning bidder 9the items they want in exchange for their offered swap) or pass and keep what they offered.

Quote: For me it was for breeding purposes....and my toms aren't aggressive, well unless it's breeding season and then only with each other.

ETA: You will also have to be really rigourous with the worming. No worms, no blackhead.
