I am very glad to hear that and I hope they will get the travel expenses covered too.  I hope the timing works out for you too. :fl

X2 I am glad you are getting some progress in his care. Such a relief for you to at least have a plan

Sah, have you heard anything about this? I am so sorry to hear about your girls.

No, I haven't found anything. There is a place nearby, kind of, that would do it for $30 but I also would have to ship or drive a couple hours each way. Thinking $50 total, and we have no spare money in the budget this month, unless I earn it from chick/eggs sales so I can't get her looked at.
After researching it (with help from Kraftyladies :bow) I am thinking Visceral Lymphomatosis. The two pullets that died are sisters, and they are the only ones that died. Usually I rotate my pens to allow a couple days a week free range, but now I will keep the SF rooster and the buff leghorns (only two months old, and have been in that pen for a week now) in lockdown... If it is Visceral Lymphomatosis, it is spread vertically (mother to child, or hen to egg in this case) or direct consumption of infected feces. If they stay locked away, my other birds will be safe from infection

Anyway, thank you for asking :)

Do you guys recommend that chick rescue stuff that you put in the water? I was thinking about grabbing some from Fleet Farm to have when these little guys show up

, But I thought I had heard that no everyone recommends it?

I keep Save-a-Chick and pribiotics on hand at all times. I would put some in there water when they first get there. I also keep Vitamins & Electrolytes on hand. I gave them vitamins & electrolytes in there water before they shipped out. I am hoping for the best. I can't believe they are doing this.

Speaking of Legbars... I hatched one little CCL this weekend. Legbar experts: is this a female with a headspot, or a darker male.... Out of CPL's eggs...

This is one of my males, just out of the box from GFF last summer, very similar.

ProfTi - sorry to hear about your birds. I know it can be frustrating. I'm with Madamwolf, Rhodebar Roo.

Profti!!! I got a live person!!! I called 612-970-7620 and spoke to someone from the actual plant, but he couldn't help me because I didn't have your tracking info lol. He said to have you call right away, and the best number is 612-970-7611. Good luck!

I cannot even express my love and admiration!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! You probably just saved 20+ birds, I would not have gotten them until tomorrow afternoon..... I talked him. Apprarently, they ship their birds either FedEx or Delta?????? Really?????? Fed Ex????? Anyway.....so Fed Ex has the birds and they have been sitting on the airline cargo dock of Fed Ex (did I mention it's 38 degrees here). He thinks that they will get them from Fed Ex to the USPS receiving desk by 7:30. He is going to pull them and we will be waiting for them there. You guys are all officially my hero's. This was totally breaking my heart. We are taking rescue chick water with to the airport, it is a 20 minute drive and I think they will be OK. Will keep you posted. You guys are awesome!!!!!!
