Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Anyone want to do a side trade that has some luck with getting crested SFH from their flock? I had one crested hatch and it never grew and I ended up losing it last night. Anything on my swap page is game. Everything is laying and I'm willing to give up some of the ones that say I'm not doing anymore swaps if someone wants.
I don't need any more eggs right now, but I have an auction listed for SFH eggs here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/754060/the-new-crazy-24hr-auction-thread/1670 I have 16 eggs right now. I have hatched many crested chicks from my flock, although I can't guarantee that you will.

I have two well crested hens that we are calling thing1 and thing 2. We also have three uncreated blues, and two roosters one crested and one uncreated. I put them into a molt a while back, but they are almost done by the looks of them. So far I've only gotten crested out of them. I can try to get picks tomorrow. Thing1 is chocolate. I expect them to start laying again at least by the end of the month. If your interested you could just pay shipping.

PM Dahlisgrams. 3/4 of my chicks are crested, lost of color variety. I've had better luck with her SFH than anybody else's, but that could be time of year, temps, my inexperience, etc. Anyway, just saying I love the chicks I got from her.

OMG, yes! I'd be willing to do that. If you can I'd love to see some pics when you can get them. Thanks so much!

Wow, lots of answers. In going to check that auction out and see about those usernames. Thanks everyone.

But if your looking for awesome colors snatch up Wallies! And yes I also got some from Dahligrams and crested they are. We have one boy I thought was a girl by the crest. Dern boys.

no, no...to sum up:

CPL, who has been a really generous and avid swapper in the past has had a lot of life-issues lately. And some people were getting worried that she had dropped off the edge of the world because she has also been completely avalanched by pm's.  (But without any communication, they did not know what was up.)  This was compounded by a couple of boxes of eggs that didn't arrive in good shape because of her husband trying to help packing them.  BM6 was kind enough to let us in on a bit of what was going on because she's a friend and knows her offline also.  but unfortunately now CPL is overwhelmed and feeling like everyone has ganged up.

Life does get overwhelming sometimes. but letting people in can also be cathartic, too.  People want to be understanding and can be if they know what is going on.

it is an unfortunate situation. I want to hug everyone but I cant.

Oh okay good well I mean not good but you know what I mean.
Hope things works out best for all parties involved.

Ok so I did it again! I was sitting on the couch relaxing after a very very busy day and I heard chirping. Not the happy little chirps coming from the two brooders still in the house. Oh no I heard the loud screaming chirps of a newly hatched chick. Opened the bator and found a chick on the floor and a turkey half hatched. I have basque, midgets, ducks, and I can't remember what else all transferred to the hatcher. There were pips everywhere. Should be a good hatch. I think I should set a reminder alarm on my phone, but then I seem to have the best hatches this way, so maybe not.

I also cleaned all the brooder a today and did a shuffle of birds. As I did I noticed that in the youngest batch of midgets I have 9 girls out of 20. That's pretty darned good. About half of these were spoken for, but she hasn't shown up to get them nor called me back. I'm not going to go through raising them and then give them up. Especially girls! Guess her order is getting cancelled. I'm not that patient of a person, but I am possessive of my girls. Sooooo if any of you are shy some girls I might have some available. Of course they will be spoilt rotten, but I can't help it they loves me.

Whoever that posted that question a page or so back about people switching up swap choices? It has been a constant thing with requests from people for me, and very confusing. I made the mistake of people wanting breeds that ended up wanting to wait for spring, when the original breed could have been sent and done with. Now it is spring, people want something different and like a dummy I said yes, they are not laying yet, the others have slowed down, and I am stuck with a time frame of spring. Which technically, I think if someone wants to switch it up, it kinda should negate the time frame. So back to the short time frame of swaps going out, and no requests for different time than what is originally stated should be agreed upon. And if someone wants to switch breeds and the person OKs it, then that should be on the person requesting as far as if it isn't out by spring, etc etc. You should see my list, it is way screwed up. Generous to a fault, my husband says... and he tells me no good deed goes unpunished. So from now on, I am going to practice saying no, in a lot of aspects in my life!! (not just chickens) LOL
