I'm glad those of you that have the hovabators have been happy with them. I just ordered the 1588 this morning with the goose egg turner. Can't wait to use it for NYD hatch-a-long!

Sorry deelake about the lose, it is so hard to loose a bird to a predator!!!

I have a new baby in the house!! It is a little silky chick from emvickrey. It has a PA on the egg, but it looks lile a blue, or splash. Anyway will get pictures here in a little bit. She sent 6, but they had a real rough ride. Had 2 developed, one died at lockdown, and one hatched. VERY happy to get the little feller! REally a big ball of fluffy stuff.

How sweet! Looking forward to photos too.

I have been reading up on Cream Legbars (since I have some chicks coming in the spring....Thanks Babymakes6!!!!)
and the whole autosexing thing. I have SG dorkings, which are also very easy to tell which are males and females when they are chicks and couldn't help but notice the similaritiy in coloring and I started wondering about the autosexing thing...is it related at all to the silver-grey gene? just wondering.

I have a Genesis too, and its a total pain to clean. Never can get it totally clean. What I do now is just incubate in the genesis, and then hatch in the Brinsea Eco 20, which is a breeze to clean.
