Have you ever wanted to just pick up and move?

I want to move too! A place where I can have a fence for the dogs si i dont have to stand out side to make sure they dont eat the chickens....... A dog training yard.....so i dont have to move the weave poles or and of that crap around to mow....A place where people dont know who I am.....

I did when I was 17. I was engaged to an older guy who was an alcoholic. Before I got beat up too bad, I broke it off. He began harrassing me and my friends and family so I moved up to my grandfather's dilapidated cottage on Lake Huron on an Ojibway reservation. I made the decision, told only family and a few friends and was up there in 2 weeks.

We did it ! 4 years ago this month.

We own our home in Iowa (lived in it for 26 years), and always thought about moving south for retirement (in a few more years). One weekend in June 2006, DD (age 15) and I took a weekend vacation while DH was gone working for the week. We ended up here (300 miles south), in southwest Missouri. We loved it and told DH about it. The next 2 weekends we returned. On the third weekend we bought our present home, and moved in July 2006. It all happened very quickly, and we love it!

Right now that sounds like a good idea. Wonder if the new owner would notice a few hundred chickens running around?

2 years ago in October I up and left Phoenix for my rural little 5 acre place in Eastern Oregon! Life has never been sweeter.... 60 chickens, 3 pigs, 1 goat and 5 dogs... Life is good!!

Funny since the house two doors down from us (also a rental) now has a For Rent sign in front and I was tempted to call and ask about it.

We're lucky, the house we're in, the neighborhood, the size, baths, etc for the same price we were paying to live in the ghetto, in a much smaller home... (and for 300-500 less than what the same house usually goes for in this area) know that... but darned if I don't get tired of plumbing issues, no oven, etc. But, gripe about that and landlord might just hike the rent up that 100/mo he's been threatening... so, I keep seeing For Rent houses on our street and thinking... is that house priced insane, or is it ours + 100 that we may get stuck with anyways?

But, then I think of all that packing... *sigh* I'd really rather not have to do that over and over... wouldn't it be grand to just do it the once, moving into our Forever Home (sounds like an SPCA ad) and then done.

I have packed up and moved before, on a whim. Now my husband and I have too much stuff to just pack up and go, but we are not planning on living in our current house forever. We like the area we live in, but not the town itself. In maybe 5 years we would like to put our place up for sale.

I have the same thoughts daily. It used to be moving back to Europe (we lived there for a summer), but now it's just moving out of town and into the country so I can have peace of mind. I want to be able to have all my roosters without worrying about my crazy neighbor and I just want space to breathe. Hopefully someday
