Hawk kill (not for young or faint of heart)

    Well, as I was chatting with another member a few minutes ago I heard the unmistakable sound of chickens in distress. Unfortunatley this is the aftermath.

    I'm sorry for your loss. It's a terrible feeling. Heartbreaking.

    But I must say it is amazing how you got that picture. Good timing and good angle.

    Sad! But an incredible photo - it looks like to me like the hen was larger than the hawk...?

    Hawks are amazingly beautiful...nice photo.

    It does look like that poor hen was bigger than the hawk....was she?

    I have quite a few pics I took that I may put up later. That was Canon D40 with my Canon 400 mm IS lens.

    You need yourself some game hens, they are much better at avoiding hawks, and they will fight back! he he

    I am so sorry for your loss. My tom has done a wonderful job keeping them away. I don't know if they just don't try because they see such a large bird below or if they try and Victor attacks it. I have not seen which, I just know I haven't had any more losses.
