Healthier duck food

In my area it is impossible to get Mazuri Waterfowl. They won't even order it for me. The local guy said it is too expensive & he can't turn a profit. I have taken to adding nutritional yeast, rolled oats, quinoa & veggies to their feed, but continue my search for Mazuri. I got a bag last year & loved the difference in ... output ... from the ducks.

That's too bad.

My country store ordered it in for me-but just the two bags that I ordered, not a whole shipment.

I would suggest PMing CelticOaksFarm. She uses it and has several breeder birds. I do apologize if my post came off as it not mattering but most Layena and Dumor feeds are about the same nutrient wise

No need to apologize. That's not how I took it. I was talking about another thread when people were not being helpful.

I will look for it. I'm hoping the feed store closest to me will be able to order it for me. I live in the city so there aren't any feed stores very close to me. But I really hope they can get it, it will be about $65 from their website. :/

For the last few years I've been buying the starter for my new ducks and goslings. I only have three bantam ducks, four large ducks and two goslings so it tends to last quite awhile. For instance my goslings are 5 weeks old today and I still have about 8 C left from the 25 lb bag of starter. I also use the breeder for the adult bantam & large ducks and mix it with regular layer pellets from time to time. The 50 lb bag lasts almost two months using it this way. It's expensive but worth it to me because all my birds look fantastic. It is the healthiest choice for waterfowl out there.
Posted by ducklover700: This is exactly what I use. It's awesome food! My ducks go through it more slowly, their feathers look better, and they just like to eat it! I've noticed that they have more energy too as far as my younger ones go.

ducklover700, I have found my bantam trio goes through it very slowly also. In fact I only have to fill up their feeder about every two weeks. The big ducks on the other hand eat it right up within a few days

I guess since they are triple the size that makes sense

I love this food! It's a little more expensive because I'm buying the starter, and the grower right now while I have babies but they act like I'm feeding them a treat every time I feed them breakfast/dinner. I was going through the other poultry feed so quickly it was ridiculous. I've been using the same bag of food for nearly 2 months now though and I'm not even half way through it.

It's just awesome.

Of the foods you listed I'd go purina over dumor .... dumor may or maynot be made with the same formula by the company each time....purina is.(or is as close to it as you'll get)
