Heartbroken need advice, please!(long post,sorry)

Screw cutting, hook it up to your truck and tear the rickety thing down.

Not really. But I would say get a tape recorder and record conversations between them. I don't know if you could call and say "So, your son admits those are my birds, and someone saw you shoo them in to keep them, but you won't give them back?" and then also call the police and everyone else you could think of. Also, like someone else suggested, tell the news people about it. kfor has "4 In Your Corner." Maybe a few others. Ummm I know the OU paper usually sucks and has nothing important to talk about. You might could tell them about it and they could have some huge expose about local yokel law enforcement?

After following this thread for a while, I think I'll go against the current and say let it go. Remember that old expression about wrestling with a pig? You both get dirty but the pig likes it.

You're getting into a feud with people who don't have as much to lose as you do. Two guinea fowl aren't worth it.

And maybe they will fly home before long.

I'm going to disagree with a few folks here. Do NOT cut the fence. If you do, these good for nothing police just may decide that they want to prosecute YOU for destruction of your neighbor's property. And, there may be laws against recording your neighbor as well. That'd be just your luck that you got in trouble and they got away with it.

Did the boys enter your property in order to run the guineas into their pen? If so, have the neighbor make a statement to the police to that effect. If they trespassed onto your property in order to take the birds, make sure the police know that.

Contact everyone that you can think of. And, if that doesn't work, file a civil suit against your neighbor. Heck, file one against the police dept. and the deputy that refused to pursue this case. Maybe that'll wake them up!

Call the local media....... no town likes bad media, hopefully they will make their "Good ole boys" settle it real quick!

Call the local news stations! All of our local stations have "People Helpers" tell them you have called the cops and you know the law and your not getting any help from them.

Update...

OKCarla made me cry by caring enough to call other Okies in to lend a hand! Well an Okie stepped up and has VERY generously offered to donate Guineas to the cause, to call my boys home!
I don't want to release this person's name without their permission, but please know that we have some very terrific people among us!!!

Thank you all!

I will let you know what happens after I bring the callers in on Sunday!

Personally, I would probably just make a small (guinea sized hole) in the bottom of the fence (or see if the bottom can be raised up a little bit). I wouldn't want ALL of the critters loose, just the birds. And believe me, if there are any holes, guineas will find it! Or, could the winds from the storm have blown a big branch up against the fence?
