Cricketleap, take Leaftalon, Cheetahstep, and Windfur on a border patrol." she ordered, seeing her younger cousin with Leaftalon. He nodded and went to get the other cats.

(Why was Nettlewater just suddenly in the nursery, XD?)

Sweetpaw gently pushed her way back in front of Nightkit, "It doesn't take two medicine cats to treat a kit." she meowed coldly to Nettlewater, then turned to Sunstream, "I'll get some catmint if it's whitecough." she trotted back to the medicine den and collected the herbs. Then came back and gave it to Nightkit.

Flamefang trotted into camp, having gone out on a hunt and returned with a large rabbit and three plump mice. He dropped a mouse at Firefrost's feet and placed the rest on the fresh-kill pile.

Ivykit looked at her sister in alarm. "You need to go see Flameclaw."

"I'm fine." Mistkit insisted.

Flameclaw looked up. He glanced across to where Sweetpaw was curled in her nest, suddenly the loud voice of Ivykit rang across through the den.

"What's wrong Ivykit?", Flameclaw asked, looking at his sister's kits.

"Mistkits's been coughing!", Ivykit cried.

Almost instantly Mistkit broke into a loud hacking cough.

The fur on Flameclaw's neck rose. He knew that noise. It was the unmistakable sound of whitecough.

"Nettlewater, can you go check on Sunstream's litter, Nightkit was complaining of bellyache this morning?" Flameclaw asked trying to sound lighthearted.

Thrushwhisker flattened his ears. He looked bitterly towards where Finchwing was lying, sharing tounges with Boulderfall. Her belly was heavy was heavy with kits. Kits. He thought. Perfect.

(So he's gonna be the Ashfur of this RP lol)

Finchwing purred happily."Boulderfall", she whispered, "Our kits will be wonderful."

(Aaah, Ashfur. There's always the Ashfur in the story. Thrushpelt and Ashfur, neither could have the mate they wanted. But only one tried to kill their love's kits, XD. That was not me, I saw it somewhere, lol)


Sweetpaw lifted her head up, she had only heard Flameclaw and not Mistkit's cough, "I'll do it. Nettlewater probably doesn't even care, she doesn't care about the code, after all." she meowed, glaring at Nettlewater where she slept and got up, she proceeded to the nursery, which was quite full with Feathercloud, Leopardspot, Smokesong, Fernheart and Firefrost. Plus Finchwing, who was not in there now, but her nest still showed how much more cramped it would be if each queen had at least three kits each. Sunstream's kits were not that much younger than Waterfrost's and would be apprenticed soon. The orangey pink apprentice made it into the nursery and  stepped carefully through the somewhat maze of nests so as not to wake Leopardspot, Smokesong or Feathercloud, she leaned down to Sunstream, "Flameclaw sent me to check on Nightkit and (Featherkit? Sorry, I can't believe I keep forgetting!)"

Firefrost nuzzled his cheek,"Thanks, Flamefang,"She meowed.
(Ever since I had Firefrost born I new they would be mates :lau)

Smokesong lifted her head. "What's the matter?" she croaked.

Do yo guys know that you can disable "nesting quotes" if you go to preferences? Just throwing that out there ;)
 
Flameclaw bent down to examine Mistkit. Her throat was swollen, and her head was hot fever. He picked up some feathery moss from the back of the storage, before placing it in one of the patients nests.
"Here", he meowed, "have a rest."
"Thanks Flameclaw." Mistkit whispered.
"I'm going to check the nursery", he meowed.

The air was crisp with cold, and the frost crunched underpaw, as Dawnpelt emerged from the warriors den, "Dovepaw, do you wanna come training now?", she asked, hearing her apprentice's reluctant groans of protest she added, "Wake Patchpaw up, let him share your pain."
