Heat Stroke, Lethargic, Possible Crop Issue...

Honey....calm down he’s 10 years old. In chicken life that’s like 185 years old. He’s blind. He has heart issues. He suffered a heat stroke. He has a sour crop. Keep him comfortable. Try not to stress him. Give him lots of affection. If he were mine that’s what I would do. I can’t cull my chickens but...I have a kind kind friend who can. Try to not over think it :love

Poor guy. Ten years is impressive. Dark purple sounds like heart or some other circulatory or respiratory issue. Can we see a photo of his head/face and of his whole body? Can you feel his abdomen (area below vent and between legs) and see if he is bloated with fluid? If he is, that would be ascites, which, unfortunately, can indicate organ failure, cancer, or infection. If there is fluid, draining it may provide some (maybe temporary) relief. Wishing you and your rooster the best.

is he pooping? What are his dropping like? If he isn’t pooping his crop is impacted. The food in his crop has gotten stuck together into chunks and is blocking the hole where the digested food would go down. He needs to have his crop drained. You can take him to the vet and they will take a small needle and drain his crop. Get out all the fluid and maybe give him antibiotics. The second option would be to keep your eye on him and massage him crop

He was pooping liquid yesterday. This morning however he isn't pooping at all. He's become very weak. I want to push out the fluid in his crop but I'm afraid what the stress will do, and if he might aspirate. I want to replace the liquid in his crop with electrolytes but again, I would have to get the stuff in there now out. And I don't know if the body would absorb it any more than what I've given.him over the past 24 hours...

His skin feels cool and I'm seeing tiny mites on his feathers that I haven't seen before.

I forgot to say that you should definitely keep him in with the air conditioning, even if he seems to feel better. Heat exposure can have a cumulative effect.
His skin is cool to the touch. I'm not sure if that would be a good thing right now. Thoughts?

He's pooped twice about three minutes apart now. He hasn't pooped for many hours. It is runny.
