Thank you! Yes, they sure can have attitude!

I love hearing what other people’s chicken breeds are like!
I used to have Wyandottes, which all the hatcheries say are easy-going, but mine were very high in the pecking order.

My Wyandotte is both. She is gentle and easy-going but takes no guff from anybody. All the hens have great respect for her. When the young chicks overstep, 1 thump from Lucy's beak and they leaen very quickly. She is the true head of the flock, and exudes that calm confidence.

Spice is the red one in the back. Doodle is the Cuckoo Maran at the bottom. Jessica is the Cuckoo Maran all the way to the right. Firefly is the very blurry Sussex at the bottom (she’s also the loud one).
