I started my chicken life when our daughter gave us some chickens last year. A Serama pair that are so adorable and a few laying hens.not sure what they are. Then I learned there was such a thing as a Silkie Chicken. They are so adorable! Right now, I have a pair of Cuckoo Silkies. Then three weeks ago, I went crazy and bought a lot of chicks. I think I have chicken fever...as I still want more.

Most of the chicks look to be pullets, but there are a few I'm just not sure yet. I have two Welsummers that look different from each other... I believe one is a cockerel, but it's not the one I originally thought was going to be.

I, also, bought two Sapphire Gems. There were suppose to be pullets, but I think one may be a cockerel. Then there are the two mottled Orpingtons that I'm hoping aren't both cockerels.

Its fun to watch them grow. Looking forward to seeing what they all look like all grown up.

G'Day from down under RingoldChick :frowWelcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. This one may be of particular interest:
Topic of the Week - Integrating Chicks into an Adult Flock

Beautiful babies! If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of them or the rest of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
