Be careful raising a cockerel from a chick yourself. IMO these boys have a greater tendency to become human aggressive than boys raised by broody hens in a flock of adult chickens. They could be very dangerous to your young sons.

Thank you for the information! I had heard otherwise before. I will definitely do more research before I purchase!

Thanks! I have a shed that I will be converting into a coop. I won't be able to do the construction until spring though. In the meantime I am solidifying plans on how best to do it.
