You're in Lacombe? And nobody gave you my phone number yet? We're in Kenner and we run Kasia's Ark Bird Rescue. We trained at Clearwater Wildlife Sanctuary on the Nothshore. Nancy is very slow in accepting new rescues and does so now by appointment only, so if it's anything that has feathers, we get all the calls. We also volunteer at the Audubon Zoo, and were there today, otherwise I would have gotten to this sooner.
For now, don't try to force feed the bird. If you have a pet carrier, put it in there and in a quiet room. Leave a bowl of water, that's it. His wing looks pretty bad, but that's not a problem for me, I've had much worse.
We can get the bird from you tomorrow if you'd like. And if I can't get through to Nancy, I'll bring him to my avian vet, Dr. Gregory Rich, on Monday.
I'll PM you.
