Sorry, that is not accurate. The float test can only prove that one is alive if it moves in the water. Sinking does not automatically mean dead. Floating does not automatically mean alive.

I thought we went over this. It is not a test to be done without lots of thought. The eggs are porous, that means they let water and air in. If there is a hair line crack you missed water rushes in the chick drowns.

Opening an egg that has not pipped is dangerous to the chick. The best thing, for next time, is to leave the egg lie in the incubator until day 23 or better yet 24. Things happen. People make these things worse.

The one that you broke the end of the egg off, has busted thru the membrane??
