Help! chick hatched with a glob of yolk URGENT!squrit out green liquid

That stinks. I keep wishing the best for you.
I noticed mine drinking, but not much. I sat down with him awhile ago and put the water up to his beak, he drank several times. I finally got him to eat a bit, not sure if he had eaten or not, he's actually just starting to fluff up. Second one is pathetic looking, but just got him to drink water, he actually looks better than the other one did at this point.
Good luck and still thinkign about you and your chick!

I hope. I might have to cull it. Its not moving and I have to dip its beak in water for it to drink. What do you think?
I've been crying today because this chick looks like its going to die. My moms been asking me "what are you crying about? Its just a chick. Its not like your baby or anything."
Well, maybe it is.

Hi everyone, been following this thread for awhile. When I get new babies to hatch or chicks delivered, the first thing that I do is dip their beaks in yogurt. Yogurt is a nutrient dense food and has moisture. So you are giving feeding them and giving moisture at the same time. Dip their beaks in and let them lick it off their beak. Mine perk up pretty quick. Also I rarely have pasty butt when i feed yogurt.

If it's been lethargic the whole time I'm afraid it simply isn't meant to be. They just don't all make it, even some that have no apparent physical issues. I'm sorry.

Hun, we all get attached to our animals. When you are raising chicks and love animals, to me its natural. I cried over finding the baby silkie under the wire mesh in the incubator. They're so dang cute at this age.
There is much more experience here, but me personally, I keep trying. You have and are doing that. Mother Nature will take its course if it's not meant to survive. If you are getting him to take water here and there, then keep trying here and there. In the mean time, keep him as comfortable as can be. I'd put him in a wash rag in a coffee cup that way the others don't stomp him if he's not up and walking on his own. If it's not meant to be, you tried as hard as you could and kept him as comfortable as could be.
Big hugs! I do know how you feel, been there several times and it sucks. It's ok to cry, this is your baby right now, its a pet.
