This morning, my father brought in one of our 12 week old chickens who was acting lethargic, didn't want to walk, closes her eyes sometimes, and even lets me pick her up, even though she normally doesn't let me pick her up and runs away... She's acting SUPER WEIRD!! i've heard some people give them antibiotics and electrolytes - but I don't even know what she has!! she is also spreading her wing joint a little when she stands... What does she have?? Tonight i'm going to check coop for mites and see if she'll poop so i can check for worms. I have Ntri-drench poultry - do i give her that? With some water?? HELP!!!

You can give the Poultry NutriDrench orally 2 ml daily. Also offer plain water. Bits of scrambled egg or some wet chicken feed can be offered to tempt her to eat and drink. How does her crop feel—empty and flat, or full, hard, or puffy? Is she walking and using both legs? You may want to separate her into a dog crate with food and water, for her protection, and to watch her. What do her poops look like? You cannot see worms or worm eggs in her poop usually. A vet could do a fecal float on some collected droppings, or you could just go ahead and worm her with SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer or Valbazen. I can give dosage.

Could she have been hurt? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease?
