@ChickenCanoe we'e been feeding them wrong all along. Found out early this morning all there food is is scratch grains. Nothing else aside from what they pack in the yard
There may be something else wrong but I would expect 11 week old birds eating nothing but scratch grains their whole life to be in pretty poor condition and health with stunted growth.
Chickens are omnivores, not strictly seed eaters.
And whatever is wrong, was likely made easier for the ailment to take hold because of the lack of essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
This is what it says on the bag of scratch grains from
TSC
Feeding Instructions:
Feed Nature's Best Organic Poultry Scratch Grains to adult poultry
to supplement a complete poultry diet.
Nature's Best Organic Poultry Scratch Grains should be
fed in addition to a complete feed and should not exceed 10% of the bird's total diet.
Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
Note that the instructions say to offer to adult poultry - not chicks.
For your sick bird, as was said earlier, I would try to get some Nutri-Drench immediately.
Tractor Supply carries it in 4 oz. containers. It will be the most rapid way to deliver the vitamins, minerals and amino acids that she has been missing. It has molasses for energy plus lysine and methionine (the very amino acids that are missing in scratch grains).
At the same time, get some real starter/grower feed for the other birds and cut out the scratch grains entirely till they are fully grown. (I wouldn't feed any scratch to those birds for at least 6 months).
If your sick bird recovers, the starter feed would help her a lot.
